I'm Back!...kinda

Hey everyone!  I'm trying to get back into things here.  I started a new job a little while ago and school has been hectic, but hopefully I can find a little time to do some updates.  To kick things off, there's a night render of 345 Park Ave.  Full size here.

I started another new project.  This time it's a pretty recognizable building.  Unfortunately the renders are already using over 4GB at a time, so I might not be able to finish this one.  I wish I could just get another memory upgrade, but my laptop can only hold 8GB.

Computer Problems and 600 at Night

I just had a major scare with my computer.  Last night the computer randomly froze while I was working with 3ds max.  I thought maybe my hard drive died on me since after I tried restarting the computer it refused to boot to the OS, and the drive kept making unusual noises.   Luckily, though, this morning, on the fourth attempt to boot, the computer actually started up and went through about an hour's worth of file repairs.  Whats worse is if the drive had died I would have lost all of my projects for this blog and for my classes.  I think it's time to either get this workstation up and running or maybe get a back up HDD in case this one totally fails.

Anyway, here's a night render of 600 Lexington Ave.  I hope you guys like it.

600 Lexington Avenue

I took a break from 277 Park Avenue to make this.  It only took one weekend to complete so it's probably the fastest I've ever made a model.

Before the site that was hosting the poll went offline, I had most people asking for me to continue working on 277 Park Avenue.  So here's the little bit of progress I've made so far.

425 Lexington Avenue is almost finished.  I'm not sure what I want to do next, so I thought I'd ask for some input from you guys.

Reviving 425 Lexington

This is a model of 425 Lexington Avenue that I made last summer but never really finished.  I started working on it a few days ago and replaced about 75% of the materials which were terrible.  It's starting to look much better now, but it's still not finished.

Here's something totally different.  I started playing around with max and made this based off of a city in the old video game Final Fantasy X.  Not New York related but I thought I'd post it anyway.



277 Begining

Here's the start of 277 Park Avenue.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to work on it since mid December when I found out from apple that the excessive heat from the long renders and exports have been damaging my battery and possibly other parts of my macbook pro.  At this time I'm still trying to figure out what computer to buy for working on these projects.
